Hoopoe Birds Challah Cover by Leo's Dry Goods

This elegant challah cover features two hoopoe birds, the national bird of Israel. The word "Shabbat" in Hebrew is centered between the birds. Shari Rogoff Moraga of Leo's Dry Goods refers to her pieces as "illustrations in thread." Each one is embroidered using free motion embroidery, so no two are exactly alike as there is no programmable machine used. The sewing machine is her "drawing tool."

 

All pieces are pre-washed and will not shrink. They can be washed and dried in any temperature, but it's recommended to remove from the dryer while still damp and flattened with your hand or a steam iron.
