Zila Yaron was more than just a collector. In the words of her husband, Giora, she was a passionate lover of Israeli art.

She filled every corner of her house with special pieces, frequently refusing to purchase what experts told her to.

She supported many young artists, often being their gateway into the art world.

In the words of one of them, Khen Shish, she was their heart and soul. The eye and the heart.

The Zila Yaron collection betrays its identity by what is in it and what is not. It does not include any early, pre-statehood works;

any conceptual works; it includes a very few photos.

The selection before us conveys a sensory, almost sensual affinity to color, to the free line, to expressiveness. Visual art at its most basic form.
