Rhapsody in Harmony Necklace by Staphanie Dubsky
This one-of-a-kind necklace is made of vintage Czech tube-shaped glass beads in a variation of colors. The necklace is adorned with five drop-shaped handcrafted porcelain beads suspended on a sterling silver wire and secured with a sterling silver clasp.
Stephanie Dubsky graduated from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria, and now lives and works as a ceramic artist and jewelry maker in Harlem, New York. Every one of her creations is hand-crafted of porcelain, without using any molds, manifesting the sensory experience of shaping and sculpting. With the Rhapsody collection she creates compositions by stringing together elements from her work in porcelain with vintage Czech glass beads, blending the old and the new in unexpected free flowing combinations.
This piece complements the exhibition Modernity and Opulence: Women of the Wiener Werkstätte, on view at the Jewish Museum from July 17 to November 15, 2026.
