Designed by Homenajes Urbanos with Marta Minujín are these neon xylographic prints featuring the text "Arte, Revolución, Arte, Impolsíon, Arta, Rebeldía" which translates to "Art, Revolution, Art, Implosion, Art, Rebellion". The oldest known printed works (from Japan and China in the 8th and 9th centuries) were made by xylography, a printing technique that involves carving text in relief upon a wooden block, which is then inked and applied to paper. Each of these prints offered here were printed in Argentina.
Homenajes Urbanos is an Argentinian design group that works with Argentinian artists, such as Marta Minujín, to bring their work to the urban environment through words and paper and the notion of multiplicity.
Marta Minujín: Arte! Arte! Arte! is the first US survey exhibition of Marta Minujín, a defining force of Latin American art whose bold experimentation over six decades intersected with major artistic developments of the postwar period. On view at the Jewish Museum November 17, 2023 - March 31, 2024
