For the Festival of Spring holiday, Passover, SIDDUR brings us this limited edition Seder plate handcrafted and designed by Guy Zagursky. Flowers of the land of Israel are painted in an elegant gold line on top of six vessels floating on a water-like porcelain relief. The four elements – Air, Water, Earth and Fire are embodied in the material into a festive object that symbolizes movement and renewal. Created in a limited edition of 20 sets.
Guy Zagursky is well known for his diverse objects and installations, using a wide spectrum of figurative and abstract images and drawing from various cultural fields from literature to wrestling. The spirits of Brancusi, Thelonious Munk and Mike Tyson are likely to find themselves together in Zagursky's shows, demonstrating an artistic practice that mostly resembles improvising in music. The main motivation behind Zagursky's installations is to create a meeting point that conveys excitement and joy, a space that allows the viewer to step away from reality for a moment, then come back with a different sense of presence. Zagursky's works have been exhibited at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, The Israel Museum Jerusalem, the Herzli ya Museum, The Bass Museum, Miami and in other major art venues in Israel, Europe, and the US.
