New versions of the Haggadah are being published worldwide, allowing us to view the story through different lenses and perspectives.
Traditionally, the story of the Exodus is told from a male perspective. However, it is not the only one we should consider, as women played an important role in leaving Egypt. Throughout the history, we have seen how women are leaders and fighters, prepared to defend their nations and people. We have heard stories of the sacrifices they made to ensure the survival and safety of their loved ones. Most importantly, we have seen how women are ready and determined to rebuild their homes and countries once peace has returned.
Our goal is to uplift their voices.
This Haggadah was created as part of the Kol Isha project. It was written by members of the JCC Krakow: Olga Adamowska, Marta Derkowska, Edyta Gawron, Anna Gulinska, Marcjanna Kubala, Kasia Leonardi, Marzena Ples and Ishbel Szatrawska, in cooperation with Bella Szwarcman-Czarnota.
