The evil eye hamsa is made of pure salt from the Holy Land. The hamsa is a symbol of protection, and salt is known as a purifying agent. The hamsa is made of 3 parts, with the upper section embossed with an Evil Eye symbol. The base is made of golden anondized aluminum with a delicate satin finish. The hamsa hangs from the back. Hook to hang included.

Lia Bruce studied architecture at the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa followed by a degree in fine art at Ramat Hasharon School of Art and a Master's degree in industrial design at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Lia's interest in salt started with her early artworks, mainly installations she made with salt grains. In her research during her Master’s degree she continued her experiments with the raw material. Saltware evolved out of collaboration with the Chemistry Research Institute at the Hebrew university which developed an innovative way to use salt as a raw material in the industry. SaltwareDesign combines the natural features of salt and its long meaningful heritage in culture and spirit. All SaltwareDesign artefacts are hand-made in her workshop in Israel.
