Sculptural Hot Pink Menorah by Lizzie Katz

Artist Lizzie Katz created a new take on her sculptural menorah for Hanukkah that is elegant enough to be displayed year-round.  Each piece is individually produced and hand-finished in Wisconsin. 

 

The menorah is a product of many years of prototyping and exploration into 2D to 3D digital design processes.  Its form is an ultra-modern interpretation of the classic Hanukkah menorah form.  The material choice of bronze is meant to give the menorah a sense of timelessness.  All of the arms of the menorah branch are created from the same sheet of metal, which is inspired by the shared common origin of the Jewish people. The form of this object is rooted in tradition, yet it was made using contemporary technology - a reminder that Jewish tradition thrives and adapts amidst modernity.
