Birds Candleholder with Wavy Edge by Leah Goodstein

Ceramicist and painter Leah Goodstein handcrafts and handpaints each Bird Candleholder, so no two are identical. First she builds the shape, then she paints the lush design of birdsand flora, next she hand-carves details into the ceramic, such as bird feathers and leaf veins, finally the piece is glazed and fired in her studio kiln. Perfect for Shabbat candlelighting or everyday use.

 

Goodstein's designs are inspired by her time living in Israel, where her husband studied to become a rabbi. She and her husband now live in Anchorage, Alaska, where each of her pieces is crafted.
