This contemporary menorah is designed by Israeli artist Zelig Segal. The menorah is a sold piece of anodized aluminum formed into the shape of a rounded capsule. To distinguish the shamash from the candles for each night, Segal has made the center hole more shallow and thus the shamash rises above the rest. Each piece is signed by artist and made Israel.
Zelig Segal, born and raised in Jerusalem, is a master sculptor, draftsman and designer. Raised in a religious household, Segal continues to design ritual objects infused with Jewish sentiment, through an innovative mode that breaks from the familiar language of Judaica. His work can be found in the permanent collection of The Jewish Museum.
