This attractive hamsa necklace designed by artist Angie Olami features shards of ancient Roman glass from Israel.  Dating from 300 BCE to 100 BCE, the glass has been dug up by Israeli archeologists at sites of cities once part of the Roman Empire.  The hamsa is a Jewish symbol worn to protect against the evil eye.

Angie Olami has been designing jewelry for over 20 years.  Many of her pieces are made on a kibbutz in Israel.  Some are made in her studio in New Jersey.
