This beautiful ketubah, by New York artist Stephanie Caplan, is done in lovely natural tones and was inspired by 17th century Yemenite  ketubot art. The stunning floral pattern is done on an eggshell background with subtle accents in beiege and cream. The simplicity and softness of the colors are really what makes this ketubah so striking and it is an excellent way to honor tradition both in home and art.

Caplan has been designing ketubot for over 15 years. A graduate of comparative religion and art history, for her, designing ketubot is a way to fulfill her creative side as well as her love of Jewish tradition and history. Caplan originally taught herself the art of Hebrew calligraphy and later studied in Lonon; she prides herself on the unique character of her fonts, which have been created from her own style of handwriting. Her artistic influences are mainly artists that use simplicity and beauty to move audiences. Caplan lives and works in the East Village of Manhattan, once a thriving Yiddish community, she is always moved by the rich Jewish tradition and history that surrounds her.
