For this challah basket by Talila Abraham, traditional lacework is recreated in modern metal to form a marriage of old and new.

Abraham is a graduate of Haifa's Technion Israeli Institute of Technology and the Holon Academic Institute of Technology in Israel. 
Metalaceart combines the traditional process of handcrafting lace with metal. The designs of Abraham are inspired by the works of unknown women and merge the unique personal and romantic feeling of handicraft with contemporary materials and advanced technology.

This challah basket is included in Design Edition JM, a curated selection of modern and contemporary Jewish ritual objects by extraordinary designers commissioned and collected by The Jewish Museum. Made in Israel.
