At first glance, the Leaves of Love ketubah with its celestial blue palette lifts one up to the heavens. Mythical leaves surround the ketubah. They suggest a peacock's glorious fan or precious filigreed jewelry. Above, a golden menorah reminds us of the light of the Torah that illuminates the darkness. This exquisitely executed ketubah is constructed of two paper cut layers. The multi-layer construction gives a perception of depth, while the artistic composition directs our eye both above and below. There is a careful visual allusion to the significance of the wedding contract and to the sanctity of the union of the bride and the groom. The artwork is a giclee print enhanced with 24-karat gold leaf.
