This bowl is made by Peterman's Boards and Bowls. Spencer Peterman finds locally fallen maple, cherry and walnut trees in Western Massachusetts to create unique bowls, boards and other items for the table. The pieces made from maple, like this bowl, are figured by the decomposition and aging of the wood, which is called 'ambrosia' or 'spalted.'
Every piece is made by Peterman in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. To keep your bowl looking as good as new, handwash it with mild soap and water and towel dry. Do not place it in a dishwasher or submerge it in water. Apply mineral oil once a month or as needed to maintain the natural beauty of the wood and help prevent the wood from becoming stained.
