This peacock ring is reminiscent of a few menorahs in the Museum's permanent collection. In different cultures, and throughout the ages, the peacock has taken on a variety of meanings -- a symbol of immortality and resurrection, beauty, the soul and even light. This interpretation is from Alekmie Jewelry and made with 100% reclaimed metals.
Alkemie Jewelry is a husband and wife team, Ashley and Dara Lowengrub, based in Los Angeles, California. They are dedicated to creating jewelry made of 100% reclaimed metals and manufacture everything by hand. Dara and Ashley had previous jewelry design experience separately before joining forces and founding Alkemie in the early 2000s.
