This eccentric smash glass designed by artist Bruria Avidan is sure to delight any couple. The glass itself is easily broken like any smash glass, but it is sheathed in a maleable skin of silicone that binds it together. The newlyweds smash the glass and the shards stay captured in the silicone, an easy way to preserve and treasure the joys of union.

Avidan was born in Israel in 1966 and received her degree in industrial
design from Jerusalem's Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. Her interest in Judaism and its traditions makes designing Judaica a natural career choice for her. Through her Judaica work, she encompasses multiple traditions and voices, offering unique and thoughtful innovations in her art.

This smash glass is included in Design Edition JM, a curated selection of modern and contemporary Jewish ritual objects by extraordinary designers commissioned and collected by The Jewish Museum.
