A mizrah is a decorative plaque traditionally placed on the eastern wall of a home or synagogue to indicate the direction of Jerusalem, toward which Jews face while praying. Reproduced here is a particularly striking example, from nineteenth-century Ukraine; its intricate design was created from cut-out paper and is part of The Jewish Museum's collection.
This is a 1,000-piece interlocking jigsaw puzzle, which combines superb color reproduction and sturdy construction to delight generations of novice and veteran puzzleworkers.
