Produced in 1979, this vintage plate for Passover was design by Chava Wolpert Richardson while at The Tobe Pascher Workshop in The Jewish Museum. The workshop, a place for artists to develop and design modern Jewish ceremonial objects, was established by her father Ludwig Wolpert in 1956. Chava often collaborated with her father; their work is included in the Museum's permanent collection.
Written on the Passover plate in Hebrew:
This is the bread of affliction which our ancestors ate in the land of Egypt. All the hungry, let them come and eat. All the needy, let them come celebrate Passover. Now here, next year in Israel.

Made in Philadelphia on Japanese porcelain.
