This mezuzah, uniquely crafted to resemble a nail, is designed by the Israeli studio Leor/Lederman. While its look is not entirely traditional, its function is. It is fitting that a mezuzah, an essential component of a Jewish home, is shaped like a nail, one of the essential raw materials used to build a home. Made in Israel.

Leor/Lederman was started by Elan Leor (b.1970) and Eran Lederman (b. 1970) after they graduated from the Bezalel Art Academy in Israel.  They are both professors at the university. The studio prides itself on its user-oriented, multi-disciplinary techniques, which have given it a renowned reputation for multi-faceted industrial design work.

This mezuzah is included in Design Edition JM, a curated selection of modern and contemporary Jewish ritual objects by extraordinary designers commissioned and collected by The Jewish Museum.
