Ketubah.com and The Jewish Museum have collaborated to bring together a beautiful selection of Ketubahs culled from the museum's collection of Marriage Contracts. The Museum Collection features ketubah designs adapted from original works from around the world that date as far back as the 1600s. Their timeless artwork decorates modern texts and provides a reminder of the long history and tradition behind signing the ketubah.
This ketubah was adapted from one of the earliest decorated Jewish marriage contracts from Italy (1614) and the earliest in the collection of The Jewish Museum. The bride and groom belonged to very prominent Sephardi families. As customary in Italian marriage contracts, the original text included a contract of marriage on the right and the articles of engagement, or tena’im, on the left. Their framing through paired horseshoe arches suggests Spanish influence.
Available in 4 sizes and 18 text options, including custom text.
