Jonathan Adler designed this tzedakah box in the shape of an elephant. The ceramic finish has a layered texture, which adds sophistication to the whimsical shape.
Born in New Jersey in 1966, Adler began making pottery at summer camp and continued to work on his technique while studying art history at Brown University and then pottery at the Rhode Island School of Design. In 1994, he sold his first line to Barney's in New York City. Adler's Judaica collection includes works in ceramics, metals and enamels. His Utopia menorah is part of The Jewish Museum's permanent collection.
