Red bendel (string) from the Tomb of Rachel is woven through the sterling chain and a sterling hamsa dangles from the bracelet. It is Jewish custom to wear red string from the Tomb of Rachel around one's left wrist. According to tradition, red string is wrapped around the stone at Rachel's grave seven times during the recitation of Hebrew prayers. The string is then cut to be worn around the wrist as a form of protection and blessing. The hamsa is also traditionally worn as protection against the evil eye. Made in Israel.
