Made from hand-carved agate stone from the south of Brazil, this challah knife by Rablabs adds a modern touch to any Shabbat table. Because this knife is made from stone, each one will be slightly different from the one pictured. Hand assembled in the USA.
Anna Rabinowicz started Rablabs in 2002 as a way to create objects that are inspired by nature, fusing ancient and precious materials with cutting-edge design. Prior to lauching her design firm, she designed such intricate objects as prosthetic knees and devices for cardiac surgery and she brings her experience and understanding of biology and nature to the design of elegant objects for the home. Rabinowicz has taught courses on design and social entrepreneurship at such universities as the California College of Art and Design, Pratt Institute and Parsons The New School for Design, where she is currently an associate professor.
