Jacobo loves to visit his abuelita, especially at Easter time.  She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in an adobe house surrounded by juniper and pinion trees.

Abuelita does thing differently than Jacobo's friends do.  During Semana Santa, Holy Week, his grandmother never makes bread or his favorite sopaipillas with honey, only tortillas made without yeast.  But whenever Jacobo asks her about it, she answers, "Ah, mijito, my child, it is the way of our family."

But one day, Abuelita is finally ready to share the key to the mystery.  "Sit with me on the porch.  It is time to tell you the secret of our family..."
