This watercolor lithograph ketubah, designed byGad Almaliah, depicts the bride and groom reaching out to one another. Among the many traditional Jewish symbols featured on this ketubah are pictures of grapes, the menorah and landscapes reminiscent ofIsrael. A passage from the Book of Jeremiah refers to the sounds of joy that accompany the voices of a bride and groom.
Israeli-born Almaliah studied the visual arts in both Israel and New York. Almaliah served as president of the Graphic Designers' Association of Israel for 15 years and has taught design at the university level in Israel, the USA and Canada.
