The Jerusalem Modern Lights Menorah, designed by architect Amy Reichert, embodies the central concept of Hanukkah, that of "increasing light." Each night, you lift a reflector and light the candle; by the last night, all of the reflectors are lifted. A starry pattern of perforations in the reflectors allows the the candelight to be visible from the opposite side as well, which makes a beautiful visual presentation in a window.
The menorah base is made of Jerusalem limestone. The reflectors and candlecups are made of brass. Each menorah is signed and numbered in an edition of 90. Made in Chicago.
Reichert's work is included in permanent collection of The Jewish Museum.
