This beautiful challah board, made by the Canadian company Larch Wood Enterprises, features strips of "end grain" Larch wood. End grain is when individual boards of wood are arranged so the grain of the wood runs vertically, and the cutting surface is actually the end of many individual pieces of wood. When cutting on the board, the knife cuts in between the fibers, not the actual board. Each board is hand-crafted and matched, giving them all a unique look.
Larch Wood Enterprises also specializes in Larch wood flooring and staircases, as well as various types of cutting and serving boards. Everything is hand-crafted in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Included with each board is a small container of Clapham's Beeswax Salad Bowl Finish, a food-safe maintenance product.
