The Sacred Bird and Butterfly seder plate pattern by Mottahedeh China replicates the original antique pattern. The Chinese word for butterfly, tieh, is a pun expressing the wish that the owner live to a ripe old age. Each section of the seder plate is expertly hand painted in orange with gold accents. Images of the six dishes for the symbolic Passover foods are depicted inside and outside of the bowl. This set was created exclusively for The Jewish Museum.
Mottahedeh China has created timeless pieces of decorative accessories and tableware in exquisite porcelain for more than 75 years. The patterns are based primarily on Chinese exports for the West, early European and Chinese designs. Made in Portugal.
