Add a work of art to your Passover table with this matzah plate by Bernardaud featuring Marc Chagall's paintings from stained-glass windows. In 1959, Marc Chagall was commissioned by the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center to create 12 stained-glass windows, which would symbolize the 12 tribes of Israel. The image on this matzah plate is Chagall's dream-like interpretation of the Asher Tribe. Gift boxed. Dishwasher and microwave safe. Made in France.
Marc Chagall (1887-1985), a Russian-French artist, was one of the most successful artists of the 20th century. He was an early modernist and worked in virtually every artistic medium, including: painting, book illustration, stained glass, stage sets, ceramics, tapestries and fine art painting. His work is included in the permanent collection of The Jewish Museum.
