The star of David on this necklace has been adapted from a 1924 Hanukkah lamp made in Copenhagen that is included in the Museum's collection. The original was made by Barukh Shlomo Griegst, a Jewish silversmith born in Lithuania who emigrated to Denmark. The design reflects the strong influence of the German Art Nouveau movement. Some of Griegst's Jewish ceremonial art is still in use in the Synagogue of Copenhagen. Made in the USA.
