The design on these colorful hoop earrings was taken from a Jewish New Year postcard, c. 1910-11, in the collection of the The Jewish Museum. The postcard is one of several that used designs originally created for textiles in the Wiener Werkstatte, 1903 -1932 Vienna. The Wiener Werkstatte brought the aestethic of hand craftsmanship to everyday living. It promoted the concept of coordinated interior decor for home furnishings as well as fashion. The style featured simple, practical design with strong geometrical lines and colors. Made in the USA.
